Located in Churchhaven, within the West Coast National Park on the edge of the Langebaan Lagoon, Samphire Cottage is an idyllic getaway, a mere 120 km from Cape Town. Conveniently, the cottage is just a few steps away from a pristine white sandy beach and rich salt marsh wetland. Living off-the-grid, it is here that you can completely unwind.
A picturesque off-the-grid getaway
Start your day with biking, hiking or numerous water sport activities, including swimming, sailing and kayaking. Or have fun on the beach with your buckets and spades. Enjoy long lazy lunches on the front veranda, with uninterrupted views of the glistening blue lagoon. Add in a game of boules and finish with a sunset stroll along the wetland. The evenings come alive with prolific stargazing, outside braais and crackling inside fires.WHERE YOU’LL STAY
The cottage is modelled in traditional West Coast architecture, with simple and comfortable styling. The open plan living room and kitchen open onto a veranda and courtyard, which leads to the three bedrooms. This is a well-loved family home, rented through word-of-mouth and personal referrals. It is a secret escape where the sensitivity of water scarcity and solar energy need to be respected.-

Check-out is at 10 am (Weekend bookings Sunday check-out time is at 4 pm)

This lagoon paradise boasts one of the richest bird sanctuaries in Africa, known especially for its waders and the winter arrival of thousands of flamingos.
You may even spot several antelope species or make friends with the resident tortoises.
